Are you spending an ungodly amount of money on lingerie? Looking for ways to save a bit of cash or get more bang for your buck?
Devotees of Victoria’s Secret might love the Victoria’s Secret Angel Card, which provides ample rewards and perks for cardholders.
It provides 3X points per dollar for bra purchases from Victoria’s Secret, and 1X point for all other Victoria’s Secret purchases. You’ll also get to choose triple point days each year, and once per month you can get double points on a purchase when making a card payment in-store (bra purchases don’t get double or triple points, though).
This card is available at three different tiers, depending on how many points you earn in a 12-month period:
|Card||12-Month Point Requirement|
The more you spend with Victoria’s Secret, the higher your status level. Higher status comes with better rewards and benefits, with a pretty significant boost in your earnings potential.
Angel and Angel VIP cardholders earn a 12% cash back equivalent on bra purchases at the 3X rate, with 4% back on everything else. Angel Forever cardholders earn 50% more for their spending, with an 18% cash back equivalent on bras and 6% back on everything else.
There’s also the PINK Angel Card, which is just an alternate design you can choose. There are no differences in the rewards and benefits for the PINK card.
This card has no annual fee, and can only be used at Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works. You won’t earn any points at Bath & Body Works, however.
The Angel Card has a very high APR, so you shouldn’t get it if you’re looking to pay for purchases over time by carrying a balance from month to month. If you do, the interest charges will likely cancel out any rewards or cost-saving benefits you get from the card. Instead, pay your statement balance in full each month to prevent interest from accruing.
You’ll get very good rewards and benefits, but there are some issues with other aspects of this card — particularly the customer support and payment processing. This card is issued by Comenity Bank, which does not have a great reputation.
If you like Victoria’s Secret, you probably don’t want to ruin your shopping experience by dealing with a card that has problems accepting payments and poor customer service. Although most cardholders probably never run into an issue, it would be a shame to stop shopping at one of your favorite stores because this card soured the experience. So if you use this card try to make your payments early, well ahead of the due date, to help avoid any potential issues.
It might be difficult to figure out all the reward and benefit details of the Victoria’s Secret Angel Card by browsing the Victoria’s Secret website or checking your card documentation. But we’ve got all the information you’re likely to need right here, like how to earn double or triple points on purchases. If your questions aren’t answered, feel free to leave a comment below or send us a message.
We give the Victoria’s Secret Angel Card 3 out of 5 Stars, because although it can be very rewarding for frequent shoppers of this popular lingerie retailer, it loses some points for having poor customer service and many reports of problems with payment processing.
You may get value from the Victoria’s Secret Angel Card if you shop there consistently every year, but otherwise you’d probably be better off with a general-use reward card. Check out some alternatives to this card below.
The Victoria’s Secret Credit Card can only be used at:
Take note that although you can use this card at physical Bath & Body Works stores, you can’t use it BathAndBodyWorks.com. And you will not earn any Angel Reward points for Bath & Body Works purchases.
If you go to Victoria’s Secret (and maybe Bath & Body Works) but forget your card, customer service can look up your account if you have a valid government-issued ID, letting you make purchases on your card.
You can pay your credit card account bill online, in-store, or by phone.
If you pay online before 8 p.m. EST, you’ll be credited for paying on that same day; after 8 p.m. EST, you’ll be credited for paying the next day. The transaction may take up to two business days to complete, but you’ll be credited for paying according to the rules just described.
This means if your due date is today but you make an online payment after 8 p.m. EST, your payment will be late because it won’t be credited until tomorrow. And this will probably result in you being charged a late fee. This is an unfortunate situation, because if you’re trying to pay at the last minute but the website is having problems, you might end up late.
You can click here to make an online payment, after logging in to your account.
If you pay in-store, your payment will usually be posted to your account immediately, so this can be a good option if you need to pay your bill as quickly as possible. You will not see your balance updated for 24 to 48 hours, but you will be credited for having paid on that day.
However, you’ll be charged a $9 fee when paying by phone! So you should obviously avoid this payment method if you can help it.
There are three versions of this rewards card: Angel, Angel VIP, and Angel Forever. The VIP and Forever tiers come with enhanced benefits, as explained below.
|Card||12-Month Point Requirement|
You’ll automatically be upgraded to the Angel VIP or Angel Forever tiers after meeting the point requirement, as long as your account is open and in good standing. When you do, you’ll receive a new card in the mail along with a reward: $10 for VIP, and $15 for Forever. If you just got an unexpected Angel VIP or Angel Forever card in the mail, it’s probably because you reached the point threshold without realizing it.
Once you reach VIP or Forever status, you’re guaranteed to get at least VIP status going forward. You won’t be dropped down to the basic Angel status.
An upgrade to Forever status will last for the rest of the Program Year, and for the entire subsequent Program Year. A Program Year is defined as February 1st to January 31st.
After that period is over you’ll drop down to VIP status, unless you earned enough points to maintain Forever status.
The amount you’ll need to spend to upgrade your status will depend on the rate at which you earn points. Regular Victoria’s Secret purchases earn 1X point per dollar, while bra purchases earn 3X points (you can also get double point for paying in store, and you can choose triple point days every year).
To reach VIP status at 500 points, the most you’ll need to spend is $500, when earning 1X point per dollar. Or if you buy all bras, earning 3X points per dollar, you’d only need to spend $167 to earn 500 points. If you have a variety of spending you’ll be somewhere in between.
And to reach Forever status at 1,000 points, the most you’ll need to spend is $1,000, if you’re earning at the basic 1X rate. The minimum required spending, if you always earn 3X points, is $334.
Keep in mind that your points won’t last forever — if you go 12 consecutive months without making any purchases with the card, you’ll lose all of your accumulated points. You also run the risk of having your account closed altogether for inactivity.
The PINK Angel Card is an alternative design for the Victoria’s Secret Angel Card. The only difference is the card design — there are no differences in the rewards, benefits, or terms.
You can express yourself with the PINK Angel Card by selecting it when applying for the Victoria’s Secret Angel Card, in-store or online.
At the first two membership tiers — Angel and Angel VIP — the Victoria’s Secret Angel Card provides a 12% cash back equivalent for bra purchases at Victoria’s Secret, with a 4% cash back equivalent for other purchases. Points are worth 4 cents each at these tiers.
At the highest membership tier — Angel Forever — this card provides an 18% cash back equivalent for bra purchases, with a 6% cash back equivalent for other purchases. Points are worth 6 cents each at these tiers.
|Introductory Bonus Offers|
Bra purchases from Victoria’s Secret earn 3X points per dollar, but you’ll only earn 1X point for other Victoria’s Secret purchases with this rewards program.
However, you’ll be eligible for double points if you make a credit card payment in-store at the time of purchase. This bonus points offer is only available once per month, and bra purchases are not eligible for double points.
For Angel and Angel VIP cardholders, each point is worth 4 cents. That means you’ll be getting a 4% cash back equivalent when earning at the 1X rate; an 8% cash back equivalent at the 2X rate; and a 12% cash back equivalent at the 3X rate.
For Angel Forever cardholders, each point is worth 6 cents. So at this level you’ll get a 6% cash back equivalent at the 1X rate; a 12% cash back equivalent at the 2X rate; and an 18% cash back equivalent at the 3X rate.
You’ll also be able to choose triple point days every year, when you’ll earn 3X points per dollar on non-bra purchases from Victoria’s Secret. You’ll only earn a maximum of 3X points on bras, not 9X.
Triple point days can be activated by calling 1-844-392-6435, and must be chosen within 90 days after the date of purchase.
Basic Angel members will get one triple point day per year; Angel VIP members will get two per year; and Angel Forever members will get three per year.
After being approved, you’ll get $15 off your first purchase with the Angel credit card. That future purchase can be either in-store or online. You’ll also receive a Little Book of Offers in the mail along with your card, containing total of $65 in savings at Victoria’s Secret stores.
The value of your Angel Reward points will depend on your tier status: Angel, Angel VIP, or Angel Forever. You’ll automatically receive a Victoria’s Secret reward gift card in the mail after reaching the 250-point threshold.
|Tier Status||Reward||Value per Point|
|Angel||$10 gift card per 250 points||4 cents|
|Angel VIP||$10 gift card per 250 points||4 cents|
|Angel Forever||$15 gift card per 250 points||6 cents|
For Angel and Angel VIP cardholders, your points are worth 4 cents each.
For Angel Forever cardholders, your points are worth 6 cents each. So your points will be worth 50% more once you reach Forever status, giving you a pretty strong incentive to upgrade if possible.
You should receive your reward gift card within three to six weeks of earning enough points. If you don’t receive your gift card, call 1-800-695-9478, or TDD/TTY 1-800-695-1788, from Monday to Saturday, and between 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. EST.
Take note that reward gift cards will expire 90 days after being issued, so you won’t have very long to use them.
You can redeem your gift cards during checkout in-store, by phone, or when shopping online at Victoria’s Secret:
Here’s a summary of the card benefits you’ll get at each status tier. There may be some additional perks for having this card as well, like mailed coupons and special offers. Take note that you must sign up for Victoria’s Secret’s email newsletter to get some of these offers.
The status requirements for each tier are explained above. And we go into more detail about a couple of these benefits below.
|Benefit||Angel Card||Angel VIP
|Triple points on all bra purchases||
|Choose your Triple Point Days||1 day||2 days||3 days|
|Rewards Gift Card each time you earn 250 points||$10||$10||$15|
|Free standard shipping on purchases that include bras||X||X||X|
|Insider access and invitations to events throughout the year||X||X|
|Annual thank you gift for maintaining status||X|
As an Angel cardholder you’ll get to choose triple point days every year, during which you’ll earn 3X points on non-bra purchases from Victoria’s Secret. Bra purchases, which already earn 3X points, are not eligible for triple points.
The number of triple point days you get per year depends on your tier status:
|Tier Status||Triple Point Days|
For triple point days, a year is defined as February 1st to January 31st.
You must call 1-844-392-6435 to select your triple point days.
Triple point days are selected after the fact, rather than before. You can choose any day from the past 90 days for triple points; if you don’t call within that time frame, that day’s purchases will no longer be eligible for triple points.
You’ll receive your triple points within three to six weeks after making your selection. Triple points can’t be combined with any other point-earning promotions.
You’ll get free standard shipping on Victoria’s Secret purchases that include eligible bras.
Use code JUST4ANGELS at checkout and pay with your Angel credit card to get free shipping.
This offer excludes clearance bras (price ending in $.99), prior purchases, and purchases with other shipping or bra offers.

We’ve received quite a few reports of people having trouble making payments to this card, either from issues with the payment processing system or administrative errors. Apparently there is no autopay feature with this and some other Comenity Bank cards, which is a major downside. (It’s nearly 2019, Comenity! Get with the times!)
We recommend making your payments early with this card to allow for any delays — don’t wait until your due date is just around the corner. Consider making payments throughout the month after you make purchases, rather than waiting until your monthly statement arrives.
This is especially important with the Angel card because it has a very high APR, like most store cards. Be sure to pay your statement balance in full each month to prevent interest charges from being applied. If you don’t, the interest charges (also known as finance charges) can quickly negate any rewards you earn.
You can see your payment options for this card above. Take note that online payments made before 8 p.m. EST will be credited to your account that same day; but payments made after 8 p.m. EST will be credited to your account the next day. And phone payments will cost $9 each, so avoid them like the proverbial plague.
|Comenity Bank Phone Support||1-800-695-9478|
Comenity Bank is the issuer of the Victoria’s Secret Angel Card, and it’s known for having a variety of issues itself. Most of the trouble centers on customer support and payment processing, although many cardholders report having their credit limits drastically reduced as well.
This doesn’t necessarily mean you have to avoid this card, but it does mean you should keep a careful eye on your monthly statements and payments. Be aware of the payment conditions mentioned in the section above, particularly the lack of autopay and the 8 p.m. cutoff for online payments. Take our advice and make your payments well ahead of the due date so you have time to correct any problems if they arise.
If you have to deal with customer support (and hopefully you don’t) try to get any important account information in writing. If a customer service agent tells you that a particular late fee was made in error or a charge will be refunded, try to get proof of your interaction.
Die-hard fans of Victoria’s Secret and its merchandise may appreciate the Victoria’s Secret Angel Card for its many rewards and benefits, and the high cash back equivalents you can get for purchases.
But unfortunately we’ve received a number of complaints about this card, especially concerning customer service and the way payments are processed. If you use this card, be sure to pay very close attention to your account and pay your bills ahead of the due date, to allow for processing delays and to give you time to sort out any errors. Consider paying off your purchases throughout the month, even before your statement is generated.
There are quite a few perks to go along with this card, like double points for paying in-store and triple point days every year, which are not advertised very strongly by Victoria’s Secret. Be sure to investigate your card carefully to get as much as you can out of it.
Although you’ll get great rewards at Victoria’s Secret — basic members get a 4% cash back equivalent on regular purchases, and 6% back on bras — many shoppers will probably be better off with a general-use reward card that could be used anywhere.
Remember that your Angel Reward points will expire after 12 months of no card activity, and reward gift cards will expire after 90 days. If you don’t use the card enough every year, you might find yourself chasing rewards that you’re never able to use. However, even if you’re not raking in tons of points, you may decide that the other benefits make this card worthwhile.
So, if you’re not a die-hard fan who visits the store every month or two, the Victoria’s Secret Angel Card may not be right for you. Consider some of our alternative card picks below — they aren’t as rewarding at Victoria’s Secret, but their rewards are easier to earn and use so they might be more valuable for you.
To apply for this card, just click the Apply Now button below. You’ll be taken to Victoria’s Secret’s website to submit your information.
While applying you can choose your card design, either the basic VS Angel Card or the PINK Angel Card.
Most applicants will get an instant decision, either approved or denied. In some cases it may take longer to provide a response. If your application is denied you’ll receive an explanation why.
The following cards aren’t as rewarding as the Victoria’s Secret Angel Card for purchases from Victoria’s Secret, but you may find them more useful. The first two can be used anywhere credit cards are accepted, while the store cards can be used at retailers that sell similar merchandise to Victoria’s Secret.
The Citi® Double Cash Card - 18 month BT offer (Review) is the best flat-rate cash back card available, offering the same decent reward for every purchase, whether it’s at Victoria’s Secret or anywhere else.
Where other cards have bonus categories that provide more for certain purchases, the Double Cash offers the same 2% cash back no matter what you buy.
It’s not as rewarding as the Victoria’s Secret card, which offers a cash back equivalent of 6% for bras and 4% for other purchases (at the Angel and Angel VIP tiers). But the Double Cash is more flexible, and there aren’t any restrictions on how you redeem your cash back, except that it must be in increments of $25.
Your rewards with the Double Cash won’t expire, like they can with the Angel card, and you don’t have to deal with reward gift cards that are only good for 90 days. Instead you can just redeem your cash back for statement credits to lower your account balance.
You won’t get all those nice Victoria’s Secret perks with the Double Cash, so if you deem those to be very valuable you may not like this card much. But you will get a variety of basic benefits that don’t come with the Angel card, plus a few that are somewhat rare, like the Concierge Service.
The Citi Double Cash has no annual fee. It offers 0% APR for 18 months on Balance Transfers, which is one of the longest balance transfer intro periods you’ll find. After that your regular APR will be 15.49% – 25.49% (Variable).
If you’re carrying a large balance on your Angel card, accruing interest at the very high APR, it could be a smart move to transfer that balance over to this card. You’ll get over a year to pay it off at no interest, which could save you heaps of money.
Read more in our Review of the Citi® Double Cash Card – 18 month BT offer
The Chase Freedom Unlimited® (Review) is another flat-rate cash back card, like the Double Cash above. In this case you’ll earn 1.5% back on everything, and you’ll get a long introductory APR for both purchases and balance transfers.
|Introductory Bonus Offer|
The Freedom Unlimited can’t match the rewards of the Angel card for Victoria’s Secret purchases, but it’s more versatile because you’ll earn 1.5% back for any purchase, anywhere.
You can also score a decent signup bonus that’s worth quite a bit more than the $15 off you’ll get for being approved for the Angel card. The Angel card also provides a Little Book of Offers with $65 in savings, which could be quite useful, but you’re limited to Victoria’s Secret if you want to take advantage of that (just like the $15 off).
You can actually earn a cash back equivalent higher than 1.5% with the Freedom Unlimited, but it requires a bit of work. You can transfer your rewards over to certain other Chase cards where you can get a better value, either through basic travel redemptions or point transfers to partner airlines and hotels. Some point transfers may provide as much as 2 cents per point or more, which would give you a cash back equivalent of 3% or more on every purchase with the Freedom Unlimited. And that’s getting closer to the rates you’ll get with the Angel card.
The three Chase cards that allow point transfers and would work for this strategy are:
The Freedom Unlimited card comes as either a Visa Signature or Visa Platinum. If you’re approved with a credit line of $5,000 or more, you’ll get a Visa Signature with upgraded benefits. Otherwise you’ll get a Visa Platinum, with more basic benefits.
If you’re approved for a Visa Signature card, you’ll also get the following:
The Freedom Unlimited has no annual fee.
Cardholders get one of the longest introductory periods available on a reward card, with 0% APR for 15 months. After that your regular APR will be 16.49% - 25.24% Variable.
This gives you quite a while to pay off purchases at no interest, something the Angel card can’t offer despite all its other perks. If you’ve had your eye on that $149 bra for a while but couldn’t stand to drop that much all at once on some underwear, maybe the Freedom Unlimited’s 0% introductory period would make that purchase more attainable. (We never recommend using credit cards for purchases you can’t afford, but this strategy allows you to pay over time at no interest for something you may want, that would otherwise be too expensive.)

Here’s a brief rundown of a few store credit cards for retailers that sell similar products to Victoria’s Secret. You may find one of these cards to be a better fit for your typical shopping routine.
|Introductory Bonus Offer|
This card has no annual fee, apart from the Prime membership cost ($119 for a standard membership).
Without a Prime membership you’ll earn 3% cash back at Amazon and Whole Foods instead of 5%, with a $50 Amazon.com gift card instead of $75. The other bonus categories and card details for the Amazon Rewards Visa Signature are the same as the Prime version of the card.
Both versions of this card can be used anywhere Visa credit cards are accepted, unlike the Angel card which can only be used at Victoria’s Secret and PINK stores, as well as Bath & Body Works.
The Nordstrom Visa Signature Card provides decent rewards at Nordstrom, with some extra benefits that some shoppers might really enjoy.
|Introductory Bonus Offer|
With this card each point is worth 1 cent, so you’ll be earning a 3% cash back equivalent at Nordstrom and the other merchants mentioned above. And you’ll get a 2% cash back equivalent in the other bonus categories.
You’ll also get perks like early access to Clear the Rack and anniversary sales, as well as new brands and product launches. Free basic alterations are included as well, and cardholders with enhanced status can get an annual visit from an in-home Nordstrom Stylist to offer advice on how to upgrade their wardrobes.
This card has no annual fee, and can be used anywhere Visa credit cards are accepted.
Macy’s shoppers might like the Macy's American Express® Card (Review), which offers rewards and benefits based on how much you spend at Macy’s annually. It’s not very profitable when it comes to the spending rewards, but there are a number of other perks that could make this card worthwhile.
|Status||Annual Spend Requirement||Annual Star Passes||Benefits|
|Introductory Bonus Offer|
This card doesn’t any spending rewards at Macy’s, unless you spend quite a bit there every year to raise your member status. Each status level will include all the features of the lower status levels.
Most of the value of this card comes from the other benefits, like the annual Star Passes you’ll get. Those Star Passes are used to get 25% off Macy’s purchases, so they can end up being very valuable.
You’ll also be offered Star Money Days throughout the year, which allow you to earn more points for Macy’s purchases. This is an American Express card, so users have access to the Amex Offers shopping portal, which provides extra points at a changing selection of retailers.
This card has no annual fee, and can be used anywhere American Express cards are accepted.
