The Victoria’s Secret Angel Card can actually be one of four cards:

  • Angel Card
  • VIP Angel Card
  • Angel Forever Credit Card
  • the PINK Angel Card (design available only at PINK stores)

Where can I use it?

You can use any of the four versions at any Victoria’s Secret or PINK store in the United States. You can also use them at any Bath & Body Works stores, but you won’t earn Angel Rewards points for those purchases.

If you go to the store but forget your card, customer service can look up your account and you can still make purchases on it if you have a valid government-issued ID.

The Rewards

  • 3 points per dollar on bra purchases from Victoria’s Secret
  • 1 point per dollar on all other purchases from Victoria’s Secret
  • Special triple point days on all purchases each month (the number of days depends on your card tier)

The points you earn will automatically be redeemed for gift cards, according to your particular card tier status.

The higher your card tier, the more valuable your points will be and the more benefits you’ll get. You’ll need to spend a certain amount and earn a certain number of points each year to raise your status.

The card tiers and their requirements are:

  • Angel Card – No point requirement: $10 gift card per 250 points
  • Angel VIP Card – Requires 500 points per year: $10 gift card per 250 points

Do I Need to Request the VIP Card, or Will It Come Automatically?

You’ll automatically earn the VIP and Forever upgrades once you reach the point threshold: 500 points for an Angel VIP card, and 1,000 points for an Angel Forever card. When you do, you’ll receive a new card and a reward, $10 for VIP and $15 for Forever status.

If you just got an Angel VIP or Angel Forever card in the mail, it’s probably because you reached the point threshold without realizing it.

Keep in mind that your points won’t last forever – if you go 12 consecutive months without making any purchases with the card, you’ll lose all of your accumulated points.

The Benefits

Regular customers of Victoria’s Secret will appreciate the plethora of special offers provided by these cards. They offer many opportunities for benefits, such as rewards for connecting with Victoria’s Secret via social media and for managing the account online (“Green Awards”).

Depending on the card level, members are also eligible for occasional sweepstakes promotions and are invited to exclusive in-store events. All cardholders get early access to the Semi-Annual Sale and receive a birthday gift each year.

VIP and Forever cardholders receive free gifts and/or free shipping at certain times of the year, and Forever members can participate in the exclusive Angel Forever Panel.

Your billing cycle will always end on the 7th of the month, and your statement will be available the next day. There is a 25-day grace period for purchases, and you can avoid interest if you pay your balance in full BEFORE the due date.  For this card and other store credit cards, it’s very important to pay off your balance before it is due in case the processing time causes your payment to be submitted after the due date.

How You Can Pay

You can pay your bill online, in-store, by phone, or by mail.

If you pay online before 6PM, the balance will be updated that same day; after 6PM, the payment will be posted but the balance will not be updated until the next day.

If you pay in-store, your payment will be posted to your account immediately, so this is a good option if you need to pay your bill as quickly as possible. You will not see your balance updated for 24 to 48 hours, but you will be credited for having paid on that day.

If you pay by phone, it must be between Monday and Saturday, and between 8AM to 9PM EST. If you make a same-day payment with a representative, you may be charged a fee. The phone number to call is 1-800-695-9478.

If you pay by mail, it will take up to 7 business days for the payment to be credited to your account. You can use personal checks, bankers checks, travelers checks, or money orders. The address is:

Victoria’s Secret
PO Box 659728
San Antonio, TX 78265 – 9728

The Bottom Line

Die-hard fans of the brand and its products (or those partnered with die-hard fans of the brand and its products) will appreciate this card because of the many discounts and benefits. However, the card’s interest rate is high, the card can only be used at Victoria’s Secret stores or other approved outlets, and the card must be “active,” that is, have been used to make a purchase within the last 12 months, or the member will lose any accumulated points.

Unfortunately we’ve received a number of complaints about this card, especially concerning the customer service and the way payments are processed. If you use this card be sure to pay very close attention to your account and pay your bills several days ahead of the due date to allow for processing time.

So, if you’re not a die-hard fan, the card’s features may not benefit you and a general-use rewards card might be better for you. In fact, light users might not make enough purchases to accumulate many points, and might actually end up losing the accumulated points.

  • vega25

This is one of the worst, laziest reviews I have ever read. There is no explanation whatsoever of how much one has to spend to get rewards, what the % return per dollar spent is – except that one can earn “double rewards for bra purchases”. Sheesh.

    • Kimberly Rotter

      Hi vega25,
Sorry for the lack of clarity. The VS point system is fairly straightforward. You earn one point per dollar spent on the card (less returns) and there is no minimum spending threshold. You’ll get a reward certificate every time you accumulate 250 points. The certificate is good for $10 off ($15 off for Forever cardholders).

As the post mentions, you’ll be automatically upgraded once you hit 500 points, and again once you hit 1000 points. All cardholders earn double points on bras, but VIP and Forever cardholders earn triple points on all purchases made during certain special events throughout the year. So once you get to those higher tiers you can earn points much more rapidly, lowering their cost and increasing their value.

With regard to a rate of return, that will vary for each cardholder based on the price of the items purchased to earn the points and the price of the items purchased when redeeming points. In other words, if you earn and redeem your points on sale items and if your purchases qualify for double or triple points, your return could be much more valuable to you in relation to the money spent.

All cardholders receive a birthday gift each year ($10 reward). VIP and Forever cardholders receive free gifts and/or free shipping at certain times of the year.

As far as cards go, this is a typical retail card. If you pay your balance off each month and you like to shop this brand, this card could be an opportunity to get a higher level of service and some free or discounted merchandise. But you wouldn’t want to carry a balance because the interest rate is quite high.

    • Credit Card Insider

Our review has been updated to address the concerns in this comment.

  • crys

You MUST pay before the due date. If you pay the day it’s due and your bank doesn’t clear it that day….you will get a $25 late fee. There is absolutely NO grace period…not even a minute. I cancelled my account because my bank didn’t clear it right away and I got my next bill with a nice little late fee attached. My bill was $59 + $25 late fee from last month. They can shove their late fee up their @$$es and I’m never setting foot in that outrageously priced store ever again. My rent, my car payment, my insurance….all has a grace period because sometimes stuff happens. But not their Bank, not even a day!!!!

    • Brendan Harkness

Thanks for sharing your experiences, Crys. Some cards are more forgiving – unfortunately, cards like these that are affiliated with stores tend be pretty harsh when it comes to collecting payments. We’ll update our review to take that into account.

    • Ginalee Gann

Lol….you are never stepping foot in Victoria’s Secret again? Because you did not pay on time? What a joke.

      • B_rad

I agree. Pay on time. Pretty simple.

        • Liberty Lee

I pay all my credit cards on time and only by small things to pay it off every month. Well there computer system would not take my new bank account. I ended up getting a returned payment fee late fee and they cut me off when i have never had a late fee before. This place is a joke. Its a nice store but the bank they go through is horrible. I regret ever getting a card through here.

  • Jacky

How long do you get to keep the points accumulated in your card.

    • Brendan Harkness

Hello Jacky: With this card, you’ll need to keep your account active by making at least 1 purchase each year to keep your points. Forever Angel cardmembers have an additional requirement:

“You will lose any accumulated points if your account is inactive (no purchases made) for 12 consecutive months. Forever Angel Cardholders must maintain 1,000 points from February 1 through January 31 following the year upgraded or will lose any accumulated points.”

      • Jacky

Ohh…why thankyou I will have to call because I should have more point then I do they took last months point away n put in this months only thanks again

        • Brendan Harkness

          Good luck Jacky!

  • Kit-kat

I have had a very bad experience with this card though the perks of this card are fantastic it is not worth dealing with the bank that they use the people are rude and do not want to help you. I understand that my problem was my back but I didn’t not receive any thing telling me that my payment did not go through. I also did not receive a statement in the mail even though I signed up for that ( did not go paperless). Now I have two 25 dollar fees added on because something went wrong and won’t connect to my account (yes I put the number in correct) I have canceled the card and am working with my bank as to what when wrong.

    • Brendan Harkness

I’m sorry to hear that, Kit-kat. Unfortunately, we’ve received several complaints about the customer service with this card. It is definitely not the easiest to deal with. You might have better luck with some non-store branded cards, which tend to have better customer service.

    • Liberty Lee

I agree the customer service people are some rude idiots. A lady told me to cancel my card and start up a new one since my online account isnt working. Im like if i do that my credit score will drop wtf

  • Karen Lovero

so as long as I pay the balance on the Angel card, there won’t be a problem?

    • Brendan Harkness

      Thanks for your question Karen.
As long as you read, understand, and follow the terms of your agreement you shouldn’t have a problem. As you may have seen from other comments, it’s important to pay your bill before the due date to allow some time for banks to process the transaction. Some can take longer than others, and customer service varies as well.

I’d recommend taking a look at this post, especially Step 3: Commit to Being A Transactor NOT A Revolver:

  • Jamie

What did you mean when you said you can avoid interest? Does that mean if you pay it back within a certain amount of time there is no interest?

    • Brendan Harkness

      That’s correct Jamie.

This a revolving credit card, which means you can use it to buy things and carry the balance over from month to month (billing period to billing period). When a billing period ends and you have a balance on your card, two things will happen.

The first is that your balance will incur the interest rate, increasing it substantially in this case.

The second is that you’ll be charged a minimum payment on your balance, which you’ll need to pay by a given due date.

You can avoid both of these actions if you make purchases and pay them off before the billing period ends. In that case you’ll be using the card for the rewards and other benefits and not using it to pay off purchases over time. You’ll have to check your card terms to find out the specific dates for you.

With this card and other store cards, which have high interest rates, the interest you are charged when you revolve a balance from month to month will quickly eat into the benefits you’re getting.

To avoid paying interest, a good goal is to only use your credit card when you know you can pay off the balance quite quickly, before the billing period ends.

Keep in mind that in some cases processing times can slow down your payment, and if you wait until the last minute your payment could be delayed and cause you to incur interest or be charged a late fee.

You can learn more about revolving debt here:

      • Jess

Brendan, we always pay our balances in full before the due date, not before the billing cycle ends. We never pay any interest by paying in full before the due date. If no amount shows on the billing statement, utilization is at 0%. I guess we look at things differently, but I want to show the credit bureaus and anyone who sees my report that I can successfully have a balance and keep it paid in full. Interesting…

  • ALLyouH@TERSget@Me

Does this card offer a co-signer for someone with “risky” credit?

    • Brendan Harkness

No, you cannot have a co-signer when applying for this card.

    • Liberty Lee

Dont get this credit card. SAVE YOURSELF

  • Lisa

This is the worst credit card I ever had … I’ve been trying to pay it for 3 days now if you pay the the store you need to know your balance they can’t pull it up next day I went they don’t accept any other form of payment expect cash then I called well guess what the only way you can pay is with customer service an charged me 15 dollars to pay … If I would have known all of this I would have never got this card the worst service in history an there stuff in not very helpful either when it comes to paying your card … I love Victoria secret just very upset right now ..

    • Brendan Harkness

I’m sorry to hear all of that @disqus_XCFJlfMzbq:disqus. We’ve had other complaints from people as they try to pay for this card.
Have you tried paying your bill online?

    • Liberty Lee

That company has the worst bank and they need to pull there head out of there ass. They lost my business.

  • renee

love love love the credit cards its really great to anyone that wants to get their credit score improved!..the rewards are great you get all kinds of coupons and freebees with the purchases..HAPPY CUSTOMER !…few more points till I reach the vip card :)

  • Nikki

I love this card and never once had an issue with it. I have the “forever” status. I guess I don’t know much about the customer service because I’ve never had to deal with them. I never spend more than what I can pay off every month so I don’t carry over a balance and don’t deal with the interest rates. Normally I pay off my balance as soon as my purchase gets posted so sometimes I make 2-3 payments a month. I got to the VIP, then forever status without even realizing it.

What I love about having the card though is all the specials you get. Monthly I always have coupons mailed to me for free products, or money off purchases, or even rewards type coupons (like $10-20 off) when I haven’t even earned them yet. I have gotten so much back for having this card, more so than with any other that I have ever owned. If I go a month or so with out buying anything I even get “please come back” offers containing even more deals.

I think it’s an amazing card as long as you understand how to manage credit and you don’t charge up more than you can afford and you actually pay you bill on time (which seems to be the main complaint here, sorry guys every bank charges late fees, you don’t deserve a “grace period” you need to pay your damn bills.)

    • Brendan Harkness

@nikkiwiser:disqus I’m glad to hear the card is working out well for you, it sounds like you’re definitely getting a lot out of it. And yes, most of the problems people seem to run into involve payment, so if you can pay your bill online throughout the month that’s definitely the route to take. Great strategy!

      • Liberty Lee

Haha maybe you should fix your computer system so i can put in my new bank account information instead of cutting me off after i sent u a check in the mail. Just a thought thought. Thanks for lowering my credit score.

        • John Ganotis

@disqus_9bK8NSfkx1:disqus Hey, I just wanted to make sure you know this website (Credit Card Insider) is not affiliated with Victoria’s Secret, so the problem isn’t in our computer system! I suggest you get in touch with Victoria’s Secret if you are having problems with your account since we can’t do anything to help you with your account or fix their website.

    • Ashley Williams

What exclusive annual gifts have they given you?

  • Anita Myers

I usually pay a few days ahead of the due date and I’ve had no problem with them. the only problem I have is my daughter keeps using it and it will take me 16 months to pay off the whole thing.

  • Jami Deshazer

Does this card help with building my credit score?

    • Brendan Harkness

Jami Deshazer Yes, as long as you use it responsibly, over time this card will have a beneficial effect on your credit score.

You may see a drop at first if the new account drastically lowers your age of accounts, for example, and there could be some other effects.

You can learn more in this Q&A Video:

    • Liberty Lee

Do not get this card to help you build credit. It will ruin you.

    • Jess

Most definitely, it does! I applied for the Angel card for my husband and myself (with him sitting right beside me, and with his permission, of course.) We were each instantly approved. I was approved for $250. He was approved for $350. I made a $54 purchase on my account and a $100 purchase on his account immediately after approval. As soon as the purchases posted to our accounts, I went in the store the very next day and paid the accounts in full. I repeated this strategy three times before our cards even arrived in the mail. When we got our cards in the mail, I had a credit limit of $500 and his had been bumped to $750! All of this happened before we ever saw the physical plastic card. I don’t advise charging so often if you can’t afford it, but if you can, then by all means go for it! Fast forward one month from receiving the cards in the mail. We still charge small purchases weekly and pay them off within a few days. I now have a credit limit of $800. His is $1100. Our credit scores have increased since applying for these cards. We took a small hit for credit inquiries at first, but it paid off. Best advice I can give…
      1. Use Responsibly (If you can’t afford it within a week or two, don’t charge it)
      2. Know when your billing cycle ends and don’t let large balances post at the end of your cycle. We try to keep ours at 30% or less. This shows good credit utilization.
      3. Pay off any Balance IN FULL BEFORE the due date. I pay ours in store since I pass it every day on my way to work anyway. This method of payment posts to your account immediately.
Comenity Bank (issuer of the Angel card) is very lenient with credit limit increases if you show them you can keep your Is dotted and your Ts crossed. I’ve never had to talk to customer service so I can’t review how that part works. If you handle your end like I just advised, you may not ever have to talk to them either. Good luck to you!

  • Emily Painter

is there a monthly fee on top of the payments you have to make to pay off your purchases? I know some stores make you pay a monthly fee as well.

  • Silver Sea

I got this card solely to save 15 dollars on a one-time purchase. I went to pay the bill the day after the purchase and I made an error in setting up the account and was charged a 15 dollar fee. I called community the day after to fix it, and the first person was very rude and said that I was my fault, I’d have to pay the fee. The second person I called was better and said they would remove the fee since I fixed it immediatly. About a week went by and the fee was still there. I called again and they said that it would be removed next billing period. About a month later I get the bill in the mail and the fee was still there plus interest. I called and they said they’d remove it and it would take effect within a few days. I forget about it, and a week or two later this time I get a call from commenity about the late payment of 50 dollars on my account, all from the interest from the fee. I tell them several people have told me the fee would be removed and they said it would be removed this time in about a week. Over a week later I check my account and the charge is still there so I call and this time they tell me it would take effect within the next billing period. Meanwhile I’ve had to put off doing several things I had planned because this stupid fee is lowering my credit score. Overall this bank is pretty incompetent, and definitely not worth the 15 dollars I saved. After all this is finally fixed, I’m never using this card again.

  • Liberty Lee

For anyone thinking of getting this card save yourself. They will rob you and you will get no help from customer support. I have never seen a bank so crooked.if you want to destroy ypur credit than get this card.

  • melissasuelarson

the PINK Angel Card (available only at PINK stores) I have never been offered this card..? Is it a credit card above the pink forever card..? Or more like a points card..?

  • LouboutinGirl

I have three credit lines with Comenity Bank. My Victoria’s Secret Card is my favorite. I have the black, Forever Card, and get all sorts of free things and coupons. It’s very nice to get free extras now and then.
I have never had any issues with that bank and they have given me generous sized limit increases in the past.
I pay on time and try to keep the credit use at 30% and under.
My only real annoyance is that it takes so long to receive your reward gift card. 3-6 weeks is the time frame given.
I have earned 2 in the past 4 weeks and they are not reflected on my account for some reason.
They also take a little longer to post your new balance after your payment is confirmed and new purchase don’t appear quickly either.
Either way it is a good card for a woman to have. I just wish they had a full clothing line again and still sold makeup. They had great eyeliners!! The most they offer now is lip glosses.
Anyway…Pay on time, keep your balance reasonable and always use coupons on your orders.
If the bank is so bad to deal with, then don’t give them a reason to deal with you. Just keep taking advantage of the card benefits. It’s great!!!

  • Valery V Shygurl

i just wanna know if theres a difference in the credit card agreement between the angel card and the angel Vip card

  • Hera K

This is exactly what happened to me. A 76 dollars turned into a 135 dollars in a month. It doesn’t make sense for me to not pay the 76 and waited to pay a 135 dollars. Basic math! They don’t send you the billing statement on time or ON times not at all. You waited until September and got a call saying that you have a late fee of 59 dollars. You called them and someone from India sounded like a machine trying to figure out why… The whole system is very clever. They will not budge on taking responsibility so this passage is exactly how it is “pay attention to your own bill” don’t expect them to send you billing statement on time because you probably will never get the statement. I cancelled the card today. It was beyond frustration. Unfortunately we’ve received a number of complaints about this card, especially concerning the customer service and the way payments are processed. If you use this card be sure to pay very close attention to your account and pay your bills several days ahead of the due date to allow for processing time.
