The Bottom Line

All in all, the Capital One® Journey® Student Credit Card is a good choice for students. It doesn’t offer the highest rewards out of the student credit cards, but it’s still a good card overall.

With it, you have the chance to build credit while earning cash back rewards at no annual fee. That’s a pretty awesome deal.

But take note of the high APR you’ll have to pay if you revolve a balance from month to month. You’ll need to pay off your balance in full each month if you want to avoid it. As long as you do this and use your card responsibly, you won’t have much to worry about.

The account management services are a pretty handy addition too. Remembering how much you spent and how many rewards you earned can be tough, so it’s nice to have some financial tools to help you out. This is especially helpful for young adults who are learning to manage their own finances.

Be sure to take advantage of the educational resources Capital One offers to learn more about credit. This is a nice feature that few credit cards come with, and it can help you use this card and others responsibly and profitably.
