The rewards program for this card is a bit different, if not a little bit tricky. You earn one stamp every time you spend $500 with the card, and Hotels.com bookings earn one stamp for each night you stay at an eligible property booked at Hotels.com (with or without the card). Here’s the breakdown:

  • Once you accrue 10 stamps, you can trade them in for a free night stay.
  • The redemption value of those 10 stamps will be their average value (add them all up, divide by 10).
  • The value of each stamp will depend on how you earn it.
  • Stamps earned for spending $500 are each worth $110; stamps earned for night stays are valued at the price of the room.

So, if you have 10 stamps with an average value of $120, for example, you can redeem them for a free night stay worth $120 or less.

When booking with stamps, you’ll still be responsible for any taxes and fees your stay may cost.

When it comes to the stamps you earn for spending $500, you wind up with a cash back equivalent of less than 2.2%, after those fees. But you can increase that with the stamps you earn by booking rooms via Hotels.com.

There’s no yearly fee to use the card so you’ll have to decide if the earning rate is worth it, depending on how often you use Hotels.com. Another incentive: Cardholders get Hotels.com Rewards Silver status for the first 12 months, giving you perks like free breakfast, WiFi, spa vouchers, and more.

This card also offers a nice handful of travel protections like Trip Cancellation and Interruption, Roadside Dispatch, Travel and Emergency Services, and Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver insurance just to name a few.

There is no foreign currency conversion fee (aka foreign transaction fee) and no annual fee.
