The Target REDcard™ Credit Card provides 5% off when you use it at Target and Target.com for eligible purchases. This discount is applied immediately when checking out, rather than being awarded as cash back.

You’ll also get free two-day shipping on eligible items from Target.com, with free standard shipping for any items that don’t qualify for two-day shipping. There are also exclusive discounts, early access offers, and an extra 30 days to make returns.

This card has no annual fee.

There is also a debit card version of this card, the Target REDcard™ Debit Card (Review). Learn more about these cards and see how the credit card version compares to the debit card in our Review of the Target REDcard Credit Card and Target REDcard Debit Card.

Target also used to offer a Target Visa, but it was changed to the Target Mastercard. All Visa cardholders have been issued a Target Mastercard in the mail. If you haven’t received yours already, give Target a call at 1-888-729-7331.

The Mastercard is only for previous Visa cardholders — new applications are not being accepted at this time.

Where can I use my Target REDcard™ Credit Card?

The Target REDcard Credit Card can only be used at Target and Target.com.

The card can be used at restaurants and services located within Target stores as well, but these purchases will usually not qualify for the 5% discount. The exception is Starbucks cafes in Target stores, which do qualify for the discount. See our review for a full description of purchases that do not qualify.

didn't receive statement

They neglected to send a statement in Nov and Dec 2018, I finally figured something was wrong when the card was declined. I immediately paid the amount in full, but not before they reported the account delinquent and took 80 points off my credit score. Apparently, they changed their system in Sep 2018 and this is a common complain on other forums.

Only store card worth having

I typically steer away from store cards, but Target is the exception. I love my red card! I love that i get 5% back on everything, I love that I get free 2-day shipping, and I love how easy their online system is. It's easy to make payments, easy to set up online auto-pay and easy to manage my account. I feel like my card is safe, secure, and I trust that customer service will take care of me (as their general customer service has thus far).Target doesn't have a lot of crazy deals like other stores, but I feel like that's because Target's pricing is typically more fair. They aren't marked up like crazy in order to have those wild sales. I'd rather have decent prices on items I can trust than the "rush of a great sale" that is overpriced anyway. Happy with my card!

Aweful, run away quickly

Had the card since 2012. In the past month I have been locked out of my account multiple times. The customer service is terrible. I have to go to the store to pay my account and have no access to it online. This is not 1985 and target is in no way worth this hassle. When I finally get through to someone on the phone I will cancel.

Love it

Love my target card! For the first year or so I got increases of 500 every 3 months. Started at 500. I am not a frequent target shopper. The most I buy is dog food monthly. 5% off every time.

OK Card function but security may be an issue ...

I've used this card some for years, for a 5% discount when shopping at Target. Years ago, they announced a hack due to the credit management company they were using. That was years ago. Now, they changed the card sign on procedure without informing me so I have to wonder if someone isn't phishing their site. I used to sign on with a sign on name and a password. They apparently changed this to requiring I sign on with an email or phone number, which is fine but not without some communication. At the store, they sold the pharmacy to CVS which set up the pharmacy so you have to wait in line more; they take far longer to fill prescriptions brought in, and they raised prices. With higher prices throughout the store, there's less reason to shop there.
