The Venmo Credit Card is available as a Visa or Visa Signature, and earns cash back on all of your purchases based on your top two spending categories. The card comes wrapped in your own unique QR code so you can send and receive money easily, and is available in a handful of vibrant colors.
The Venmo Visa Signature Card offers a unique way to send and receive cash payments while earning rewards on everything you purchase, working seamlessly with the Venmo app.
The card earns 3% cash back on your top spend category, 2% cash back on your second top spend category, and 1% cash back for all other purchases and peer-to-peer transactions. Unfortunately, it’s not free money as there is still a 3% fee for sending cash to friends from the card.
You can use cash back rewards for card payments or as statement credits like most cards, or you can send rewards to friends in your Venmo app. You can also split transactions with your friends on Venmo, and use your unique QR code on your card to receive payments.
You’ll get in on some of the classic Visa Signature benefits like the Visa Concierge, the Visa Luxury Hotel Collection, a rental car discount, and Troon golf benefits. If you’re only approved for the basic Visa version you won’t get as many benefits, but you’ll still get Roadside Protection, Emergency Travel Services, and probably a couple others (Visa Signature gets these too).
As of October 2020, you may not be eligible to apply for the card just yet, but keeping your app up-to-date is the best way to know. You’ll see a Venmo Credit Card section at the top of your main menu if you’re eligible, but if not just wait a bit because soon the card will be open to anyone.
You’ll see a virtual card number pop up in your app as soon as you’re approved so you can use the card right away, but your credit limit may be lower until you receive and activate your physical card.
The Venmo Visa Signature card has no annual fee.
