This company is awful. I decided to pay my card off and sent them a check for over 10,000. It cleared my bank and did not get posted to my account--they have been investigating, but no one can seem to find my money. It was deposited into a Citi bank account.
I have had this card since 1979 and have made more than the minimum payment on time for years. I realized that I did not receive my statement in a timely manner last month and immediately called the company to let them know. The representative told me they were sending out a new statement and "everything was fine". Before I even received the new statement they put a block on my card. The "option" they gave me was to give them access to my bank information to make a payment in that manner. There is no way I would give this company access given the the way they messed up.
Be careful if you choose this card, they change the Credit limit on your card whenever they feel like changing it,with out you knowing. I do not think this is a card I would choose again and I am a really good card holder with them
I have had the sears card forever. The rewards are great, I get gift cards to use every Christmas, I get store specials and great offers. I have been a very happy customer for 20+ years and Sears is my #1 card.
This is a horrible high interest credit card. I've had my account for 17 years predating when Sears sold their card program to Citi. 26.5% annual APR on a Platinum card with an $11,000 limit. I have paid more interest in the first 2 months of this year than on a car loan 4 times the amount in all of 2017. I suggest anyone interested check with a local credit union. These rates are usury rates. I opened a credit card with my credit union last year at an 8.25% APR with a $10,500 limit, 1/3rd the APR of the Citi Platinum Sears Card. My credit rating is excellent and in 17 years I have never had an interest rate decrease on this card.
