The PenFed Pathfinder Rewards American Express® Card is an excellent travel card, with rewards and cost-saving benefits.

Cardholders earn 3X points on travel, with 1.5X points for every other purchase. PenFed Honors Advantage members get 4X points on travel, and you can attain this member level by opening a PenFed Access America Checking Account or being a member of the military.

There are some great perks with this card, particularly the $100 Air Travel Credit for incidental fees and the $100 Application Fee Credit for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck. The air travel credit only applies to incidental fees, like baggage and in-flight food; it doesn’t include flight tickets.

You’ll also get a concierge service you can call for assistance whenever you’d like, and a variety of travel protections.

All this comes for no annual fee, meaning you’ll actually come out ahead in value from this card simply by using the travel credits. An air travel credit with no annual fee is a rare combination, making this a very lucrative card offer (not to mention the Global Entry/TSA PreCheck credit). There are no foreign transaction fees either.

This card also has a 0% promotional balance transfer APR for 12 months on transfers made between now and September 30, 2019. After that, the APR for the unpaid balance and any new balance transfers will be 12.99% to 17.99% Variable based on your creditworthiness, which includes an evaluation of your credit history and the length of your PenFed membership and will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate. A 3% balance transfer fee applies to each transfer. This transaction is subject to credit approval. If you take advantage of this balance transfer, you will immediately be charged interest on all purchases made with your credit card unless you pay the entire account balance, including balance transfers, in full each month by the payment due date.

To apply for this product you must become a member of PenFed. You can check the membership requirements for PenFed here. PenFed is federally insured by NCUA.
