Learn more about how we rate cards.

Regular business travelers can use credit cards to earn rewards, get perks at airlines and hotels, and make trips a bit more comfortable on the whole.

If you’ll be traveling outside the United States, be sure to get a card with no foreign transaction fees so you won’t be charged extra.

Or, if you regularly make business purchases in a foreign currency without leaving the US, a fee for every transaction will add up to quite a lot. But you can easily avoid this problem.

Check out our picks for the best credit cards with no foreign transaction fees. Then take a look at some of the top cards by issuer.

Best for Bad Credit

With bad credit your options will be pretty limited, and you may need to go with a secured business credit card. Secured cards require a refundable security deposit, which will be used to fund the credit line.

There aren’t many secured business cards, but the Wells Fargo® Business Secured Credit Card is one of the best.

It requires a security deposit of $500 to $25,000 when you’re approved. Your credit limit will be equal to the amount of your deposit.

You must have a Wells Fargo checking or savings account to apply for this card. The security deposit will be automatically withdrawn from the account you designate if you’re approved.

Wells Fargo will periodically review your account and credit history. If they see responsible credit behavior, you may be offered an upgrade to an unsecured business card, which will probably be the Wells Fargo Business Platinum Card.

Is a No Foreign Transaction Fee Business Credit Card Right For You?

Figuring out if you need a card without foreign transaction fees is easy.

Will you travel outside the United States? Will you be making purchases in a foreign currency?

If so, a credit card with no foreign transaction fees will save you money compared to other cards.

Traveling abroad can be expensive if you’re using a card that will charge extra for purchases in foreign currency. Many cards will charge up to 3% for those transactions — getting a card without fees is a simple way to avoid this expense.

Most business travel cards won’t charge extra for foreign transactions. Some don’t have annual fees either, giving you a way to make foreign purchases completely for free.

There are four credit card issuers that don’t include foreign transaction fees on any of their cards. These issuers are:

  • Discover (but Discover doesn’t offer business cards to new applicants)
  • Capital One
  • HSBC
  • USAA (but USAA doesn’t issue business cards)

If you’re using a credit card and being charged for foreign transactions, this is money you don’t need to spend. Whether you have excellent credit scores or you’re trying to build up your credit, check out the cards on this page to help you save a bit of money from here on out.

Selection Criteria: What Makes a Great No Foreign Transaction Fee Business Card?

Try to find a great no foreign transaction fee card by looking for the following features.

  • Fits your business needs: If your business imports products from outside the U.S. and pays in a foreign currency, you don’t need to be charged extra. Or, if you or your employees travel outside the country, why pay more?
  • A useful rewards program: Find a rewards card with bonus categories that match the types of spending your business typically has.
  • Shopping and travel benefits: High-end travel cards have valuable perks that can make your trips cheaper and more comfortable, although you’ll still get basic protections with other cards.
  • A reasonable annual fee: Annual fees aren’t always bad, as long as you’re getting enough out of the card to make it worth the fee.
  • Good customer support: Many business credit cards provide a specially trained customer support team to deal with the concerns of a small business.
