This prepaid debit card comes with a number of annoying fees, some of which can be avoided. If you’re having trouble getting a credit card, the rewards and ease of use of certain prepaid cards are a decent alternative. Just beware the fees.

The Walmart MoneyCard is a prepaid debit card that works in tandem with the Walmart MoneyCard app, which you’ll need to use the card. The app lets you see your transactions, lock/unlock your card, see your cash back amount, deposit cash, and access a number of other features.

You can snag this card at any Walmart checkout lane, or request one online and they’ll mail it to you within a couple weeks.

There is a $5.95 monthly fee, waived with $1,000 monthly deposit. There are also a number of other fees, like $2.50 per ATM withdrawal unless you’re at Walmart, $5.95 per cash reload (unless you use the app), another one for card replacements, and another for foreign transactions.
