Horrible card

The store is fine....citibank are shammers though. Three months in a row I paid my balance in full and all three times I called two weeks later AFTER the money had already been taken out of mmy bank for the payemnt and they said they had the right to put the pyment on hold without explanation. BS.....cancelled the card the third time...they are FOS...don't get one....in fact I would be weary of dealing with Citibank period. Should be zero stars...they don't even deserve 1.

Avoid like the plague

I got a Home Depot credit card only because I could get a discount on the initial purchase. For that purchaxe, I paid $44.75, and planned to pay it off entirely and close the account as soon as the first bill arrived. That first bill was over $400, as someone had fraudelently used my card. So, I contacted customer service and filed a dispute and closed the account. I paid my $44.75 and was told that the rest of it would surely be resolved. A month later, I get a bill for $71 that includes a $14 late payment fee. Of course, I call again and waste much time on the phone, only to be told that the department that handles this problem is closed, and I'll need to call back (and, undoubtedly, waste a lot more time) tomorrow. In addition to their terrible customer service, they obviously have no way to detect fraud. I've been a victim of identity theft more than once (including having a fraudelent federal tax return filed in my name). There has also been fraudelent activity on a few of my credit cards in the past. But, recently all other credit cards I've had have become very good at detecting such activity. That's certainly not the case with the HD credit card. Again, avoid this card like the plague!

Home depot dont waste your credit score

I got semi approved on line. My credit score is over 740 all my 5 credit cards are paid in full. I was told that I would need to come into the store with a drivers Id and major credit card to verify its me. I went into the home depoit when it was a snow storm in my town. I showed the customer service my id and major credit card. She called the credit dept they asked me a few more questions then they approved and print me out a temporary card for a 2,500 credit limit told me congratulations and to go shopping. I dint go shopping that day I waited three days. Went into the store with some one decided since I was there to make a small purchased using my temporary card to see how it worked. My card was declined. The store clerk called the credit dept again to see what the issue is she was told By them that I wasn't approved and for me to call them to see why. As soon as I left the store and got in my car I called the credit dept to see what the problem was. I was on hold for 20 minutes and was told that they cant tell me over the phone to wait for a letter in the mail. I never was treated like this by any credit card company. I just bought my 1st home and was told to get a home depot card as soon as I close in case I needed house repairs. Ooh what a mistake I made applying for they card. My score went down because these nuts checked my credit. I wouldn't accept a card from them even it was a $10.000 limit

Missing $3,000+ payment

On Jan 15th 2019 I went to my bank and got a cashier check for over $3000 to pay my bill in full! They cashed it on Jan 21st. My account is in auto pay. I get a notification that they took the payment out. I called and said I paid this in full. They can’t find my payment. I go to my bank get the actual receipt of the transaction and that it was cashed. I have called numerous times and they still haven’t updated my payment I get the run around every time. My next step is call my local news investigator. Who just can cash a $3,000 check written to Home Depot with out proof?

Stay away from Home Depot financing

I have experience with buying appliances from Lowes many times and this is my first time working with Home Depot financial service. I must say it will be the last. They approach as a loan shark. I just got dumped the %40 promotional interest at $4k with remaining balance of $3k and I just missed the grace period to pay off the balance and reverse the interest. That has happened to me before with Lowes and they had a lot more understanding and reversed it in favor of keeping repeating customer and I did spend around $50k with Lowes. Home Depot will certainly not get a cent from me moving forward due to their malpractices.I understand that somewhere in the many pages the promotional interest is written with very very small font, but consumers assume this works a credit card not Loan Shark establishment.Needless to say they do not want to make an exception even though I have my reasons for not seeing the statement on time, due to being out of the country etc.Hopefully this review will steer some hard working people away from using Home Depot's financial services.
