The new Walmart Rewards Mastercard comes with no annual fee. It replaced the old Walmart Mastercard, and is designed for people across the credit spectrum.
This card offers 5% cash back on all purchases at Walmart.com and 2% cash back on Walmart purchases in stores, on restaurants, and on travel. For all other purchases you’ll earn 1% cash back.
You’ll be able to take advantage of a 5% cash back introductory offer for Walmart Pay, Walmart’s mobile pay app, on in-store purchases for the first 12 months, after which you’ll get the basic 2% cash back.
As opposed to the Walmart Rewards Card, which is the store-only version, this card comes with some nifty Mastercard benefits such as a Concierge Service, Price Protection Coverage, Master RoadAssist Service, and more.
You can apply for this card within the Walmart app, at Walmart.com, at CapitalOne.com, or in Walmart stores.
If you had the previous version of this card, the Walmart Mastercard, you can continue using your card as normal. On October 11, 2019, the new rewards program will begin, and you can begin earning rewards at the new rates without having to reapply.
On October 14, 2019, you should set up your new online account with Capital One. Your previous account settings will not transfer over: Your payment due date will change, and you’ll need to set up payment information, autopay details, alerts, and any other account settings you want. Payments will not be accepted online or by phone from October 10 at 3 p.m. ET to October 13, 2019; during this time only mail payments will be accepted.
See Walmart’s website for further details about the change, and what to do if you have any questions or concerns.
