Newly issued by Capital One, the Walmart Rewards Card now earns better rewards when you shop online at Walmart.com or use the Walmart app. If you have an old Walmart card, your account will automatically be converted on October 11, 2019.
The Walmart Rewards Card is a store credit card with no annual fee. It replaced the old Walmart Credit Card, and is designed for people across the credit spectrum.
You’ll get 5% cash back on all purchases at Walmart.com and 2% cash back on Walmart purchases in stores and at Walmart fuel stations, including Murphy gas stations.
You can take advantage of a 5% cash back introductory offer for Walmart Pay, Walmart’s mobile pay app, on purchases in store for 12 months, after which you’ll get 2% cash back.
You can apply for this card within the Walmart app, at Walmart.com, at CapitalOne.com, or in Walmart stores.
If you had the previous version of this card, the Walmart Credit Card, you can continue using your card as normal. On October 11, 2019, the new rewards program will begin, and you can begin earning rewards at the new rates without having to reapply.
On October 14, 2019, you can set up your new online account with Capital One. Your previous account settings will not transfer over: Your payment due date will change, and you’ll need to set up payment information, autopay details, alerts, and any other account settings you want. Payments will not be accepted online or by phone from October 10 at 3 p.m. ET to October 13, 2019; during this time only mail payments will be accepted.
See Walmart’s website for further details about the change, and what to do if you have any questions or concerns.
