Worst Customer Service

The Bloomingdale's website is confusing and if you use this card, make sure it's not charging your shared charging account that Bloomingdale's will set up when they give you this card. You have two options to pay with; they created this card so you will charge OUTSIDE of Bloomngdale's. Bloomingdale's is owned by Macy's, and the customer service at their credit department is DISMAL. They are unprofessional and catty on the phone. I was a customer for 20 years and they make you feel like any mistake is your fault, laugh, and use "you should have known"; it's their favorite catchphrase. It must be part of credit employee training at Macy's. I will never use this card again. It's NOT AMERICAN EXPRESS. AMEX credit customer service is impeccable. Macy's credit department is NOT AMEX and is awful. Avoid this card.

consistent problems

I've had a Bloomingdale's account and store card, Visa card and now, the Amex. Since I live a block from the store, I've kept the card and visit the store frequently--most often for lunch. Since this became an Amex credit card, it's been one problem after another. Today, It was turned down when I tried to buy a monthly Metro card. I called Amex and a nice lady "fixed it". Twenty minutes later, turned down at exactly the same subway. I've had it turned down overseas again and again and many merchants-my hair salon for example, won't accept it. They've also diminished the rewards and since the store prices are much higher, the points aren't worth as much. If I didn't live this close, I'd never use this Amex!
