The Barclaycard Ring™ Mastercard® stands out among other credit cards. Users of this card are encouraged to participate in a forum where they can provide feedback on it.
Barclays even goes so far as to change the terms based on consumer votes — they recently added new terms for balance transfers, for example.
New cardholders get a 12-month 0% intro APR for balance transfers made during the first 45 days. Transfers made during this time will incur a 3% fee.
After 45 days, balance transfers will be subject to the regular APR — but there will be no transfer fee.
So you’ll have to decide which offer is more valuable to you. Would you rather pay a fee to transfer a balance, and then get 0% APR for a year? Or would you rather pay no transfer fee, but end up accruing interest on the balance?
We recommend going with the 0% intro rate in most cases, because the finance charges you’ll accrue on the balance are likely to be more than the transfer fee you’d pay.
