The Amazon Business Prime American Express Card is designed for small business owners who use Amazon Prime, and often make business purchases through Amazon or affiliated services.

This is a metal card which requires an Amazon Prime or Business Prime membership. If you don’t have a Prime membership you’ll get the Amazon Business American Express Card (Review), which offers less in rewards and a shorter repayment period (it’s also made of metal).

Cardholders get 5% cash back (up to $120,000 spent per year) at:

  • Amazon Business
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Whole Foods Markets

And 2% cash back is earned at U.S. gas stations, U.S. restaurants, and U.S. providers of wireless telephone services.

After being approved for the card you’ll get a $125 gift card, with no spending requirement.

Instead of earning 5% cash back for Amazon purchases, cardholders can choose to get 90 days to pay without being charged interest. This is a rare feature, which could be very useful if your business needs some extra time to pay for expenses.

You’ll get some business benefits, including enhanced data views, the ability to transfer transactions to QuickBooks, and up to 99 employee cards, all for free. Extra discounts are available through the Amex Offers program, and there are a number of shopping and travel benefits.

The Amazon Business Prime American Express Card has no annual fee, and no foreign transaction fees. Balance transfers are not allowed with this card.
