Capital One Announces New Denver Airport Lounge

  • Capital One will be opening a new lounge at the Denver International Airport (DEN) in 2022, on Concourse A. It’ll feature ready-to-eat small plates and snacks, local beer, relaxation rooms, shower suites, and quiet workspaces, among other amenities.
  • This is the third new lounge that Capital One has announced; the other two will be at Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), slated for 2021, and Washington Dulles (IAD), in 2022. These lounges are in partnership with Plaza Premium Group.

American Express Sells SZA NFTs to Cardholders

  • American Express is selling 14 NFTs (non-fungible tokens) of R&B artist SZA, singer of “Good Days.” Amex recently hosted a virtual concert for SZA, and attendees and Amex cardholders have an opportunity to buy NFTs featuring the performance.
  • The first 10 NFTs were available only to concert attendees; the remaining four, released July 12, are available to any Amex cardholder. Each one costs $100, and they’ll likely be resold on secondary markets. “The first drop sold out,” according to an Amex spokeswoman, and the card issuer intends to release more NFTs in the future.
  • This move by American Express may be the first foray into NFTs by a credit card company, although issuers and networks have been incorporating other blockchain and cryptocurrency services for some time now.
